Skin Tags Removal
Skin tag cauterization (electrocautery) is where we use a specialized, heated electric probe to burn off the skin tag. The high temperature instantly destroys the growth and seals blood vessels to prevent bleeding. The procedure takes under 10 minutes and requires a short recovery time.
What to Expect
Preparation: We will typically clean the area and apply a topical or local anesthetic (like lidocaine) so you won’t feel pain during the procedure.
The Procedure: The heated device gently touches the skin tag, destroying the tissue. Because the blood vessels are sealed as it cuts, there is virtually no bleeding.
Aftercare: A small scab will form immediately over the treated area. The scab naturally falls off within 7 to 14 days. During healing, doctors usually recommend applying petroleum jelly (such as Vaseline) and keeping the wound clean and lightly covered.
Expected Results: Skin tags are often removed in one session and due to the way the skin tags are removed the procedure minimises any risk of scarring.
Why Choose Cauterization?
Compared to cryotherapy (freezing) or surgical snipping, cauterization is especially preferred for slightly more stubborn tags or those located in sensitive areas. It is an ideal method for preventing post-procedure bleeding and offers a clean cosmetic outcome.

Post-Treatment Advice: You will be advised on aftercare and suitable products to use on your skin post treatment at your consultation, SPF50 applied should be applied to all areas treated for 2 weeks
