Scar Management
Our scar protocols treatment can significantly improve the appearance of both new and old scars. The scars that can be treated may have resulted from many different causes for example – post surgery, accidental injury as well as burns. Patients with scarring have often been advised they are stuck with them and there is nothing that can improve their outlook, however bespoke laser treatment can make a significant difference.
How it works:
Lavender has a multilayered approach to treating scar tissue dependent on the type of scar, its appearance and your skin type. With ablative and thermal effects, RF microneedling improve scars by ablating to reduce the thickness of scars and smoothing the edges of scars; as well as stimulating collagen production and remodeling collagen to improve the volume of scars.
Subcision plus fillers or PDRN:
Filler or PDRN injections can be inserted into the area where subcision is done .Fillers help to add volume to the depressed area and enhance the lifting effect of the subcision.
Hyaluronic acid (HAs) based fillers or PDRN to be injected in combination with subcision to lift the depressed scar. Our preferred HA for this purpose is Restylane, which is made of sugar chains and is a very skin-friendly product.
What is the downtime of the procedure
To simplify it, remember Lavender’s “ONEs” rules:Discomfort one hour,
Swelling one day,
Bruising one week,
PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) one month,
PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) one month.
After the procedure, bruising and swelling of the treated area is expected. The extent of the bruising, swelling and healing time may vary depending on the size and location of the treated area as well as the thickness and texture of the skin.
How many treatments of subcision are recommended:
The number of treatments depends on the depth and extent of the scar. It can be anywhere from one to three sessions of subcision, with one or two months between each session for optimal results. If subcision is combined with filler, a faster and better result is expected
Expected Results: Patients will notice a significant difference in their scars from the depth of the scar to the skin tone and texture feeling like normal skin, rather than scar tissue. Often freckles and your normal skin tone will return to these areas.
Downtime: After the treatment, mild crusting will occur and all heals in 5 -7 days with minimal downtime
