Syringoma

Syringomas are small papules that resemble pimples on your skin.
They usually appear in small clusters or groups on your skin, most
often on your face. They are easily identifiable as rounded bumps on
the skin with colours ranging from skin-toned to white or even light
yellow. These bumps are harmless to your body and they do not itch or
cause pain.
Causes Of Syringoma
Syringomas are the result of cells overgrowth in the sweat glands.
These glands are also known as the eccrine glands. Eccrine gland is
found in almost all regions of the skin and they produce sweat that
reaches the surface of the skin by way of coiled ducts. When the body
gets warm, your eccrine glands produce sweat to bring your body
temperature down.
There are also physical and environmental factors that can make your
eccrine glands overwork, causing syringoma to appear. These factors
include:
  • Stress
  • Exercise or physical activity
  • Hot climate
  • Genetics changes
Syringoma is most commonly found around these areas:
  • Chest
  • Upper cheeks
  • Lower eyelids
  • Genitalia
  • Abdomen
  • Forehead
Syringoma Removal Treatments
Syringomas quite often return after treatments. At The Novalee Clinic,
we use a combination of CO2 laser and Cauterization to treat
syringoma. From our experiences, the combination of these two
treatments will help to not only remove the syringoma but also to
reduce the chances of recurrences.
How Many Sessions Is Required
It determines on how many syringomas are there as well as how
clustered are there. Several sessions are usually required for those that
are numerous and clustered. Most patients can see good results in one
session. Some will inevitably require more.
